Overview

The DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral (M3M) is a compact, foldable drone specifically designed for precision agriculture, forestry management, and environmental monitoring. It combines an RGB camera with four dedicated multispectral sensors (Green, Red, Red Edge, Near Infrared) to capture crop health data that the human eye cannot see, enabling data-driven decisions about irrigation, fertilisation, pest control, and harvest timing.

The M3M's multispectral sensors feature 5 MP resolution each with globally synchronised electronic shutters to eliminate image distortion during flight. An integrated sunlight sensor on top of the drone calibrates for ambient lighting conditions, ensuring consistent and comparable NDVI, NDRE, and other vegetation index results across different times of day and weather conditions. With centimetre-level RTK positioning built in, the M3M produces georeferenced multispectral maps without the need for ground control points.

With up to 43 minutes of flight time and the compact Mavic 3 airframe, the M3M covers up to 200 hectares in a single flight at 100 m altitude. It integrates with DJI Terra for rapid multispectral map processing and supports prescription map output for variable rate application through compatible agricultural spraying drones like the DJI Agras series. The M3M is an essential tool for agronomists, farm managers, and environmental researchers.
